ALL SALES ARE FINAL
In 1943, Los Angeles attorneys Ben and Edward Fenton launched a series of dance halls where women, known as "taxi dancers," partnered with men for a dime a minute. Their first venue, Roseland Roof, opened near 9th and Spring Streets in downtown L.A. Today, all that endures from that bygone era is the weathered, rusted sign—a quiet relic of a once-vibrant social scene.
