The Panthéon, originally conceived as a "temple to all gods," is an 18th-century mausoleum that holds both historic sculptures and paintings, as well as the remains of prominent French citizens. Beneath its grand structure lies a labyrinth of passageways adorned with elegant stone archways. Many renowned figures are interred and memorialized here, including Voltaire, Victor Hugo, Josephine Baker, Marie and Pierre Curie, and Louis Braille, creator of the Braille writing system.
